1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Event Scheduler ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our Android application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Event Scheduler operates entirely on your device. Specifically:

• No user accounts or registration required
• No personal data is collected, stored on servers, or transmitted over the internet
• No analytics, tracking, or telemetry data is gathered
• Voice recordings are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded or shared

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Events and Schedules: Reminders, tasks, and media events you create, including titles, descriptions, scheduled times, and recurring settings
• Media References: File paths or URIs to local media files you select for playback, and YouTube video IDs/URLs you provide for the YouPlayer feature
• Reminder Tones: URIs of selected ringtones or audio files for reminder notifications
• Voice Recordings: Audio recordings you create as reminder tones, stored in the app's private storage directory
• Reminder Settings: Your per-reminder snooze timing, snooze count, and tone ring-duration preferences
• App Preferences: Your app settings and configuration

This data is stored in a local database and app-private files on your device and is never transmitted to any external server.

4. Internet Access

The app requires internet permission for the following purposes:

• YouPlayer Feature: When you use the YouPlayer media source, the app loads YouTube video content via an embedded player. This requires an internet connection to stream video from YouTube's servers. The app does not send any of your personal data during this process.
• Advertisements: The app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data as described in Google's advertising privacy policy. No personal data from the app is shared with AdMob beyond standard ad serving.

No other feature of the app requires or uses internet access. Your events, reminders, recordings, and schedules never leave your device.

5. Permissions

Event Scheduler requests the following permissions, used only for their stated purpose:

• Schedule Exact Alarm / Use Exact Alarm: To trigger your events at the precise scheduled time
• Notifications: To display reminder and task notifications
• Full-Screen Intent: To show reminder notifications as heads-up alerts that are immediately visible (Android 14+)
• Microphone (Record Audio): To record voice memos that can be used as reminder tones. Only activated when you tap the Record button. Audio is stored locally and never transmitted.
• Read Media Files: To access local audio/video files you select for media events or reminder tones
• Foreground Service: To keep media playback running when the player is minimized
• Wake Lock: To ensure scheduled events trigger reliably
• Boot Completed: To reschedule your events after device restart
• Internet: For YouTube video streaming and ad delivery
• Vibrate: For notification alerts

6. Third-Party Services

YouTube (YouPlayer Feature): The YouPlayer feature uses the android-youtube-player library (by PierfrancescoSoffritti) to embed YouTube content. When you play a video using YouPlayer, your device connects to YouTube's servers to stream the video. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that content delivery. The app itself does not share any data with YouTube.

Google AdMob (Advertisements): The app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and process certain device information (such as advertising ID, device type, and general location) to serve relevant ads. This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not provide any of your app data (events, reminders, recordings) to AdMob.

No other third-party services or analytics platforms are used.

7. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties. Since we do not collect any data, there is nothing to share.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete your data at any time by:

• Deleting individual events within the app
• Clearing the app's data from Android Settings
• Uninstalling the app (removes all associated data)

Local Backup & Restore: You can export your events, reminder settings, and preferences to a local JSON file from Settings, and restore them later on your device. These backup files are created and stored only where you choose on your device and are never uploaded to any server.

Automatic cleanup:

• Triggered reminders are automatically deleted after 7 days
• Disabled media events are automatically deleted after 30 days
• Voice recordings are automatically deleted when their associated reminder is deleted or expires

9. Children's Privacy

Event Scheduler does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
